Pete Osborn

Caring for animals has been Pete’s lifelong passion. Since he was 10, he has spent his time walking, training, and caring for animals. Pete remembers, “Growing up, our home always had one or two rescue dogs. I loved being around them, but I didn’t really understand training or behavior. I just knew I wanted to help them feel safe and loved.”

His interest in dog training deepened after adopting his Australian Cattle Dog, Finn. Finn’s intensity and sensitivity challenged Pete in all the right ways. Training him was not just about rules or behavior; it was about building trust, connection, and learning to see the world through Finn’s eyes.

Before becoming a trainer, Pete enjoyed a diverse professional career spanning more than a decade. These experiences taught him to be responsive, communicate clearly, and adapt to complex situations, and how to connect with people from different backgrounds—skills that translate directly to working with dogs.

In 2024, Pete left the corporate world to focus on dogs, starting as a walker on Rover. He quickly became one of the platform’s most sought-after walkers. Professional, reliable, and thorough, he began taking on more challenging cases, including reactive dogs.

Pete joined Zen Dog Training after connecting with the owner Gordon and his philosophy that successful dog training begins with understanding. When pet owners learn to read their dog’s body language and emotional cues, behavior naturally improves. Pete enjoys helping clients build stronger bonds with their dogs through clear communication, consistent structure, and calm, patient guidance.

Whether it is puppyhood, reactivity, or everyday obedience, Pete brings a supportive, trust-based approach that prioritizes long-term success.
